About this tool

OLRB Geographic Areas Map

The Ontario Labour Relations Board's 33 construction industry geographic areas cover all of Ontario. The boundaries are set out in the OLRB's official Construction Industry Geographic Areas PDF; this tool turns them into an instant address lookup.

This is the first interactive version of the OLRB's geographic areas. The build required substantial reconciliation work between the OLRB's published descriptions and modern Ontario geography. Edge cases are inevitable; the Report an Error button above sends a pre-filled email so we can investigate.

Disclaimer: This tool is provided for reference purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. Always verify the relevant board area against the OLRB's official area descriptions before filing a certification application or other proceeding. For questions, please email tom [at] courtready.ca.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions

What source is this map built from?

The map reconciles the OLRB's published Construction Industry Geographic Areas PDF against current Ontario geographic data. If you spot a result that disagrees with your read of the OLRB's source descriptions, please use the Report an Error button above the map so we can investigate.

How does the tool handle areas where the OLRB references historical geographic townships?

Some OLRB area descriptions reference geographic townships that no longer exist as separate municipal entities. The tool reconciles these against current municipal boundaries so that addresses within the historical township boundaries are correctly assigned to the appropriate OLRB area.

What happens if an address falls outside the mapped boundaries?

For an address that geocodes within Ontario but doesn't fall within any mapped polygon, the tool returns the closest area by proximity and labels it as a likely match rather than a confirmed one. For an address outside Ontario, the tool returns no result because the OLRB's geographic areas only cover the province.

Is this an official Ontario Labour Relations Board tool?

No. This is a free Courtready tool built independently. The OLRB's official source document is its Construction Industry Geographic Areas PDF, linked under the Consult Source Map button above the map. Always verify against the official source before relying on the tool's output for a filing.

How do I report an error?

Click the Report an Error button above the map. It opens a pre-filled email with the page URL included, which lets us reproduce the exact view you were looking at. We try to address reported errors within a few business days.
